The study “Justice, Trust, and Wealth: How Ukrainians Perceive Resources, Success, and Social Responsibility” aimed to not only explore the perception of wealth, but also learn more about wealthy people and their social responsibility, as well as identify factors that:
— form a positive or negative attitude toward the rich;
— increase or decrease trust in wealthy people;
— determine who is “their” rich for Ukrainians;
— set a framework to form a new ethics of wealth and modern patronage.
Another important aspect of the study’s findings is how Ukrainians perceive the origin, legitimacy, and social role of material resources.
This study by Zagoriy Foundation is actually a basis for a more meaningful public conversation on the role of wealthy people in Ukraine’s development, as well as on their influence on the formation of the culture of responsibility and trust.
Moreover, it is an impetus for rethinking what socially acceptable and socially useful wealth can be like now and in the future.
