Take Your Dog to Work: Why Zagoriy Foundation’s Spaces Are Pet-Friendly

26.06.2026

On June 26, the international Take Your Dog to Work campaign takes place around the world to promote pet-friendly workplaces and responsible pet ownership. At Zagoriy Foundation, a pet-friendly approach is part of the corporate culture: The Foundation’s spaces are open to people with dogs, while clear rules for coexistence help make this environment comfortable for everyone.

“A pet-friendly space isn’t a perk or a trendy fad. For me, it’s one of the hallmarks of a mature corporate culture, where care means the ability to simultaneously take into account people’s diverse needs. If a company can create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and safe, there’s a place for pets too,” says Nadya Turiy, HR Director at Zagoriy Foundation.

The demand for pet-friendly spaces in Ukraine is growing. According to a survey by MasterZoo and the Bezbariernist NGO, 15% of Ukrainian pet owners bring their dogs to offices or coworking spaces. At Zagoriy Foundation, this approach has already become part of daily life: You can bring your dog to the Foundation’s office, the Mysternya gallery of Ukrainian heritage, and the Halt military-themed space, while Prostir Dobra hosts lectures on the humane and safe treatment of animals.

To help companies responsibly implement a pet-friendly approach, Zagoriy Foundation, together with Zachyn — a center for animal adoption and training — has created a free guide titled “The Pet-Friendly Office: A Practical Guide for Companies.” It will enable businesses assess their office’s readiness for animals, prepare their team, and establish rules for everyone.

You can download the guide here. And to meet the dogs looking for a family, visit the  “Zachyn” Animal Adoption Center, where dogs receive medical care, socialization, and training to live with people before finding a new family.
