Background
According to the latest data from the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, cardiovascular diseases (CVD) remain the leading cause of mortality in Ukraine (64% of all cases). Every year, these diseases claim the lives of approximately 450,000 people. As a result of the full-scale invasion, the average age of developing CVD in Ukraine has dropped by 10 years and now stands at 45–50 years. This means that heart diseases affect an increasing number of active, working-age people, including military personnel and civilians who experience high levels of stress on a daily basis.
In response to these challenges, the Strong Hearts Foundation has launched a charitable program offering comprehensive cardiological check-ups to detect cardiovascular diseases in their early stages among civilians and military personnel. We are convinced that caring for heart health is not a luxury but a basic necessity in the country living under wartime conditions.
The Strong Hearts Foundation is a nonprofit organization that develops programs to prevent and manage cardiovascular diseases, fostering the culture of heart health and improved public health in Ukraine.

Mission
Ensuring early identification of risks, access to quality diagnostics, and prevention of complications.
Goals
The checkup program includes cutting-edge methods for assessing heart function under the supervision of experienced cardiologists, as well as an educational component covering prevention, lifestyle changes, and recovery from stress or overexertion.
What Impact Will It Have?
For military personnel: The possibility to monitor their health and return to service or civil life with less risk.
For the community: A lower mortality and disability rate from heart diseases as well as preservation of ability to work and quality of life.
For the country: Strengthened human capital during wartime and post-war recovery.
We believe that investing in heart health is investing in the nation’s strength. That is why we are working to ensure that every person, regardless of their status or income, has the chance to learn about their risk and take timely action.
